Ready to adopt?

At The ARK, we rescue a wide variety of animals — from playful puppies and kittens to affectionate dogs and farm cats. Our shelter is home to a mix of breeds, both pure and mixed, each with their own unique story.

Before applying, take a moment to ask yourself some important questions to ensure you're ready to welcome a new family member into your home:

  • Can you commit to caring for an animal for up to 15 years?

  • Are you able to afford food, veterinary care, and other essential needs?

  • Have you discussed adopting with your family?

  • Do you have the time and dedication to provide the love and attention an animal needs to thrive?

  • Adoption application

Once you've found a rescue you're interested in (please note that some of our rescues may not be listed on our website — feel free to WhatsApp us for photos and details), head over to our Adoption Form downloads. Complete the application form for your chosen species (dog or cat), then WhatsApp or email us a copy.

If you’d like to arrange a meet and greet with your selected rescue — something we highly recommend for adult rescues — simply WhatsApp us to schedule an appointment.

Once we receive your completed application, we’ll review the information you’ve provided and assess the needs of the rescue you’ve chosen. If we feel that both you and the rescue are a good match, we’ll proceed to the next step: the house visit.

  • House visit

    House visit

The house visit is an essential step in ensuring that your home provides a safe and suitable environment for a rescue. During the visit, we’ll offer recommendations on any adjustments that might be needed to help your rescue settle into a secure and happy life with you.

    For the house visit, please:

    - Answer all questions truthfully. The home visitor needs to assess whether the dog and your family are a perfect match. If it turns out that your home or circumstances aren’t ideal for a specific rescue, don’t worry — we may have another rescue in mind that would be a better fit for your environment.

    - Feel free to express any concerns you have and ask as many questions as needed. We’re here to ensure both you and your rescue are set up for success.

    Adoption fee

When everyone is confident that your chosen rescue is the right fit for you and your home is ready for its new family member, it’s time to discuss adoption fees.

Your rescue will come vaccinated, dewormed, de-ticked, and vet-checked. All dogs are spayed/neutered at 6 months old, and cats at 4 months old. These services are included in the one-off fee, which varies depending on the specific rescue. To find out the adoption fee for a particular rescue, contact us today.

Before you pick up your new rescue, they will:

    - Have undergone a full health check by the vet.

    - Be up-to-date with vaccinations, deworming and tick prevention.

    - Be neutered or, if not yet ready, we will arrange and book the procedure for you.
